Grandmother’s cream

Grandmother’s cream: the dessert to serve to surprise your guests! A creamy dessert that everyone will love!

 

INGREDIENTS :

 

800 ml (3 ¼ cups) milk

 

8 egg yolks

 

1 lemon (zest)

 

60g (½ cup) cornstarch

 

180g (1 cup) sugar

 

300 g (3 cups) biscuits, crumbled

 

Powdered sugar, pine nuts for serving

 

 

PREPARATION :

Heat milk and lemon zest until almost boiling.

 

Whisk egg yolks with cornstarch and sugar.

 

Pour a little hot milk over the yolks and whisk vigorously. Continue pouring the milk into the yolks and whisking.

 

Return mixture to saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, whisking, for 10 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.

 

Let the cream cool slightly, then pour it into the glasses, layering crumbled biscuits.
