Delicious Patty Melts with Secret Sauce

Savor the ultimate comfort food with our delectable Patty Melts featuring a tantalizing secret sauce. This classic recipe combines juicy beef patties, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and our special sauce, all sandwiched between grilled rye bread. Indulge in a mouthwatering blend of flavors that will leave you craving more.



4 slices Swiss cheese

8 slices rye bread

1 pound ground beef

1 large onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons butter

Salt and pepper to taste


For the Secret Sauce:

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons finely chopped pickles



In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the secret sauce until well combined. Set aside.

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season with salt and pepper.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Wipe the skillet clean and return it to the heat. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.

Place a slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet. Top with a cooked beef patty, a spoonful of caramelized onions, a slice of Swiss cheese, and a dollop of secret sauce. Place another slice of bread on top, butter side up.

Cook the patty melt for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make the remaining patty melts.
